Qualified DNA practitioner
After having my second child, I was lucky enough to be able to start a new journey leaving behind a stressful corporate job that wasn’t healthy. I have been able to start a new career in something that I have always loved – nutrition.
What I have learned has been fascinating and far beyond what I thought food did. It plays such a vital role in providing our bodies with energy to function. Food is a basic need and one that can so easily be overlooked.
I now know things I wish I knew ten years ago, and my practice is dedicated to sharing this knowledge with my clients and changing their lives for the better.
My straight-talking approach backed by scientific research is one that life is for living, and any changes to our food need to be sustainable for the long term.
This will often mean change, but it will not mean eating things you dislike or depriving yourself of things you like.
Food should be enjoyable while nourishing our bodies with the right nutrients to enable us to feel and look our best but most importantly, for a long healthy life.
Having your DNA tested means you can access what lifestyle changes can be made to ensure optimal health. Our genes are unique to us, and what and how they work can determine a number of health factors, maybe not what is happening to us right now but could happen in the future.
Using the tests and information provided, I can give advice on what changes can be made to help our genes work with us instead of against us.
You can order your DNAfit test kit through me, to be delivered to your doorstep.
Once you’ve received your kit, you’ll need to do a simple mouth swab (which takes about five minutes) and send your sample back to DNAfit in the envelope provided, to their lab. Your sample undergoes genetic analysis which takes approximately ten working days.
DNAfit have a strict data protection policy, so you know your data is secure. They only test for the genes they need, and destroy your sample once the lab has completed the analysis. Your results are stored under an anonymised ID to create your reports.
DNAfit adhere to the UK Data Protection Act, they are GDPR compliant and are proud to be the first consumer genetics company to be awarded ISO27001 certification – the highest international standard for data security and management.
